Development

Every project starts with a focus on creating value, with an emphasis on cost-effective, environmentally sensitive solutions.

Acquest's clients range from Fortune 500 companies to the United States Government, from renowned research facilities to restored historical landmarks. The opportunities are endless, and we are here to provide the most advantageous solutions for you and your business.

Design-Build

Design/build construction allows a single entity to be responsible for both design and construction of a project. The design/build method of contracting has become an alternative to the traditional method of awarding separate contracts for design and construction. The contractual separation of design and construction responsibilities, inherent in the traditional contracting method, is eliminated.  The client and Acquest as the design/builder enter into a single contract wherein Acquest is responsible for the coordination and completion of the design and construction of the building. The design is created by a team of in-house architectural, interior designers, and consultant engineers under contract to Acquest, which then leaves contractual responsibility for full performance of all phases of the project vested in one entity, the design/builder - Acquest.

Land Assemblage

Land assemblage and site development require patience, creativity, sensitivity to community needs and the expertise to properly work within an ever-changing environment. From transaction structuring and market research, to environmental reviews and site due diligence, to the coordination and supervision of engineers, architects and other planning professionals - Acquest takes your project from concept to completion.

Design

We are creative problem solvers dedicated to a hands-on approach that brings a passion for detail into all phases of our projects. Through traditional construction methods and new construction technologies, we find solutions to immediate and long-term concerns of building maintenance and rehabilitation.  We work closely with our clients to investigate building conditions and to develop strategic, economically responsible recommendations for the design of their buildings, and then implement the design and construction in an open, transparent line of communication.

Construction Management

From initial concepts through planning stages to the finished project, Acquest offers a complete solution in construction management. No matter what the project requires, Acquest remains intimately involved throughout the entire process.

We handle construction planning and material management, and provide detailed job reports, control change orders, schedules, quality insurance and more. When you work with Acquest as your construction management partner, you're building more than just a beautiful structure - you're building a mutually beneficial relationship.

Property & Facility Management

As a property owner, landlord and tenant, Acquest knows property management. Our team of professionals has a visible, hands-on presence at each location we serve, and we understand the importance of timely, conscientious service.

At Acquest, the individual needs of clients and tenants are our number-one priority. We strive for the highest-quality service to ensure pleasant and comfortable work environments, with an eye on keeping operating costs low. We strive to add value with a sharp focus on energy usage and efficiency, preventative maintenance, safety procedures and expense planning.

LEED

The U.S. Green Building Council's LEED green building program system is the foremost program for the design, construction, maintenance and operations of green buildings. More than 51,000 projects are currently participating in the commercial and institutional LEED rating systems, comprising 9.6 billion square feet of construction space in all 50 states and 135 countries. LEED has played a significant role in reducing energy and water bills in public sector buildings across the country, saving taxpayers money and contributing to the nation's security.

Based on formal review of project documentation by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), the following projects by Acquest Development have achieved LEED Status:

NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction
College Park, Maryland
LEED-Certification Status Achieved: Gold

Designed by the global architectural firm, HOK. Sunshades were incorporated into the design on the south side of the building to optimize energy performance. Two-thirds of the roof surface is "green roof" covered with low growing plants for better insulation and protection. Rainwater bio-retention areas and a storm water cistern collect water for irrigation, and a four-story rainwater waterfall efficiently drains the non-green portion of the roof. NOAA employees at the center have the resources of a contemporary building designed to deliver a wide variety of forecasting services and support cutting-edge integrated earth systems research.

Environmental Protection Agency - New England Regional Laboratory
Chelmsford, Massachusetts
LEED-Certification Status Achieved: Gold (First Gold LEED Rated Laboratory)

The EPA's New England Regional Laboratory (NERL) has been an industry leader in its construction Waste Management program since its completion in 2001. From conception the project was charged to "make use of the best commercially-available materials and technologies to minimize consumption of energy and resources and maximize use of natural, recycled and non-toxic materials." The facility also makes use of 100% green power through solar power for lighting and generation and purchase of wind power for all other electricity needs.

Awards include:

  • GSA Environmental Award 4/2002
  • Real Property Innovation Award 11/2001
  • ABC Excellence in Construction Award 2001
